Tampa Florida Carpet Cleaning Tips

Tampa FL Carpet Cleaning TipsA carpet is a big investment. Many people don’t realize the necessary care it takes to make the carpet last.

The most important thing is to vacuum at least twice a week. This will not only prevent dry soil from building up, but will also prevent the fibers from scratching and wear.

Use entrance mats at the front and back doors and make sure you clean them weekly as they can be a source of dirt for your clean carpet.

Try to minimize wearing street shoes in the house as this brings in all the contaminants from outside like asphalt sealant, oils, dirt and bacteria, etc.. Wear white socks or slippers instead.

When spot cleaning as little spotter as possible applied to a white terry cloth towel then blot (don’t scrub) from outside in. Once gone, dampen clean area on towel with warm water and try to wipe (rinse) the cleaning solution out of the area to rid the carpet of residue that may attract dirt.

NEVER clean your carpets with store bought or rented machines. They don’t have good vacuum suction and leave residue. This will cause your carpets to get dirtier faster. The worst carpets we see are do-it-yourselfers and dry cleaned carpets. It’s amazing how much foam we pull out of carpets that have not been properly rinsed and dried. Have a professional deep clean your carpets every 6-12 months and apply a protector (green guard) to traffic areas and your  investment will last a very long time.

Tampa Florida Tile Cleaning Tips

Tampa Florida Tile Cleaning TipsAfter you have us clean your tile and grout floors there are several things you can do to maintain that wonderful appearance.

We recommend you use a dry vacuum on hard surfaces before mopping. This will remove any loose dirt that can embed itself in grooves and grout lines.

Avoid using cleaners that would leave a residue such as Mop & Glow. It works great on vinyl floors but not ceramic tile.

Instead, we recommend just hot mopping or a steam mop. This way you leave no residue that can attract and lock in dirt and grime.

Never apply bleach or harsh chemicals as they will strip the sealers and badly wear down and pit your grout.

Have your hard surfaces professionally cleaned and re-sealed every 2 years or so for a long lasting, beautiful shine for many years to come.
